After completing a course successfully you can register for the next class. If you haven’t attended a pdL course before, you usually have to do a placement test. On the same evening you can find your result on the internet and see if you can register for a course or if you are on a waiting list(due to the limited number of students in one class there is no guarantee you can start immediately). If you can and want to apply for a course please come to the office during the opening times right on the following day.

There is no tutorial for A1-B2 afternoon classes, so these courses have 20 lessons less and cost less.

• Morning classes: € 480 (200 lessons),
• Afternoon classes: € 430 (180 lessons).

You register for a class by signing a contract, please mind our terms and conditions.
In case you cancel the course we will charge you as follows:

• up to 3 weeks before the start of the course: € 30 administration fee
• up to 2 weeks before the start of the course: 25% of the course fee
• up to 1 week before the start of the course: 50% of the course fee
• later cancellations/no-shows: 100% of the course fee

It depends on the period of time you need your visa for. Please contact you embassy on that question.

Applications for level A1 can be made anytime in advance. For all other levels you have to take part in a placement test so we can make sure you join a course on the right level. The test is written and oral and cannot be done online.

If your visa application is refused, we’ll refund the course fee less € 30 administration fee. In this case we’ll need your notice of visa rejection, your original confirmation of registration to pdL and the original payment receipt.

There is no test for A1 applicants.
For all other levels a placement test is necessary. Tests and testresults differ from language school to language school. We want to make sure that you join the right course.

The test fee is € 15,-.
Please register and pay for the placement test in our cafeteria about 30-45 minutes before the test. You will receive a registration test number. With this number you can see your results on our website and get information about wether you can register right away and what level it is going to be.

There are different tasks for different levels. On every level there’s a grammar and a writing test, your oral skills and listening comprehension will be tested in a little ‘interview’.

There is no sample test and you don’t have to prepare for the placement test. Just show us what you’ve learned so far.

You have to take part in an placement test unless:

• you want to repeat a C1 course at pdL
• you have a DSH1 certificate
• you have passed DaF with at least 14 points

In these cases you may apply directly as long as there are free places in the course.

In a C1/DSH preparation course you’ll write 6 tests. The results of these tests are important. More information on the tests will be provided to you by your teacher.

Due to procedural changes this is not possible anymore, we’re afraid. Basic information on the DSH application will be provided to you in class. It’s a good idea to see to a place in a DSH test respectively an admission as soon as possible.
We have some DSH test places at a diffent university to offer to extraordinarily successful students.

Yes, telc C1 for universities is accepted by all German universities. You can take part in the exam at pdL. Dates will be announced on our website.

You can register at our office on Mondays and Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm or on Tuesdays and Thursdays fom 1 to 5 pm.

We offer free e-learning (moodle) containing much information on different exams plus grammar and vocabulary exercises.

You need a written invitation from our office to take part in a placement test for an integration course.
The date for your placement test will be announced in the invitation.

We also offer some afternoon classes.

A B2 certificate is required. We recommend you take part in the placement test even with a certificate so we can make sure you register for the right course and have the option to succeed.
